One of the worlds most important Lift Industry fair Asansor Istanbul has once more been the ultimate meeting point for industry professionals around the globe.
Asansör İstanbul 2009 Lift Exhibition is realized by IFO- İstanbul Fair Organizations, between 12-15 April for the 11th time with the support of AYSAD ( Turkish Elevator and Escalator Industrialists Association). The event was held at Tuyap International Fair Convention and Congress Center occupying 22.000sqm indoor space.
Despite the global economic downturn, the Exhibition has proved itself to be a key point for the industry with attracting 22.892- 18.844 national and 4.138 international- visitors from 69 countries and 285 participants. 25% of the visitors have visited the event more than once, resulting an increase in total number of visits of more than 31.000 which could be interpreted as a continuous interest and expanding business connections. The total number of visitors has increased by an impressive 7% in comparison to the previous edition of the Exhibition in 2007 that was realized at a more stable economic climate. So the motto “Success for All!” has come to life.
The official inauguration was assisted by Mr. Michel Chartron- President of European Lift Association, Mr. Louis Bialy – Member of American National Standards Institute, Mr. Ren Tianxiao- President of China Elevator Association, Mr. Giovanni Ferrarini- President of EFESME, Mr. Nurettin Ozdebir – Chairman of Ankara Chamber of Industry, Mr. Sefa Targit- President of AYSAD and Mr. Selahattin Durak- Chariman of Board İstanbul Fair Organizations.
Asansör İstanbul 2009 Lift Exhibition, with an expanding success performed particularly in the recent years, has definitely strenghtened its leading position among the most important lift industry specialized events in the world.
The conferences held in conjunction with the event have hosted the pioneering professionals from the industry and drawn a great interest from the visitors. Some of the topics took place during these conferences were; “Beginning of a New Era- Global Approach to Codes”, “European Lift Market and the Italian Excellence”, “Energy Efficiency at Vertical and Horizantal Transportation in Buildings”, “Development of Lift and New Machinery Directives”, “Working and dimension Principles of Synchrouous Motors”, “Progress of National Lift Sector: Technic, Competition, Trade”.
Asansör İstanbul, has also hosted the ILDC- International Lift Design Contest for the 3rd time. The winner Ms.Esra Keskin ve Mr. Fatih Şenay, have been given a 5000€ award on their joint project, 2nd winner Mr.Emre Çağlar has won 3.000 €, 3rd Mr.Korhan Büyükdemirci winning 1.000 € and Mr. Hakan Evkaya who was chosen for the KONE Special Award, won a special trip to KONE Facilities in Finland. The primary purpose of the ILDC was to introduce the lift industry to designers and provide a sustainable ground for any future collaborations. All projects nominated were also displayed in Hall 8 all through the event.
