30.000 visits from 64 countries
to Asansör İstanbul’07!
Coming ahead Europe and Russia, Asansör İstanbul ’07 fair which is held in the center of the Balkan Countries, Central Asia Turkish Republics and Middle East market had been rushed by international visitors. The fair of which the 10th was held this year, was visited 30.000 times from 64 countries. The number of visitors from abroad has reached 15 percent of the total visitors.
Asansör İstanbul Fair which is one of the the biggest lift fairs in the world, broke a record by reaching a greater number of visitors than expected. Held by IFO İstanbul Fair Organization with the support of Association of Elevator and Escalator Industrialists (AYSAD) at TUYAP Exhibition and Convention Center, Asansör İstanbul ’07 Fair, had been visited by 21.431 professionals from Turkey and abroad.
The rate of the visitors of 64 countries coming from all over the world had exceeded 15 percent of the total visitors. 21.431 visitors had entered for 30.000 times in 4 days which means 1/3 of the visitors visited more than once. Had got together customers from all over the world with construction engineers, architects and engineers, public associations and building managers, academicians and other professional visitors from Turkey, Asansör İstanbul 05’, had presented “the day before tomorrow” to guests by the exhibited technologies and conference program. Asansör İstanbul ’07 also created a mutual business platform which got together the component manufacturers with the contracting companies and contracting companies with the end users.
Conference program hosted international speakers…
On the first day of the conference which was held parallel to Asansor Istanbul’07, Mr. James Fortune from Fortune Consultants informed the audience about Emergency & Evacuation Operations - Applications in Mega-buildings. The second speaker was Asst. Prof. Serkan Anılır who attracted attention of NASA with his Space Lift Project and still works as the only non-Japan scientist and the team leader at Japan Space and Aeronautics JAXA presented ATA Space Lift Project- An innovation and technology transfer platform.
On the second day, at Summit Istanbul, panelists including Richard Maiocchi, the president of ELA and William Orchard; Executive Vice President, Major Projects of Kone Elevators highlighted the audience on Standards, Codes and Applications.
On the last day of the conference Turkish Government and Turkish Standards Institute representatives discussed ‘Product Safety& Product Responsibility’ in domestic market with the private sector representatives.
IFO awarded the winner with 11 thousand dollars and gave away 23.500 dollars in total
64 projects of communication at lift competed…
Asansör İstanbul, 10th International Lift Fair once more hosted the future of the lifts. The subject of the Lift Design Contest organized for the second time this year in the scope of Asansör İstanbul ’07 was “Smart Response”. During the contest, welcoming international contestants this year for the first time, 64 original and innovative designs which would create an exchange of information between users and lifts have been evaluated and Umit Karaca and Mehmet Kındı, the designers of the best Project have been awarded with 11 thousand dollars. Furthermore with the other ranking contestants the total prize award was 23.500 dollars.
Asansör İstanbul, organized by İFO İstanbul Fair Organization between April 12-15, 2007 again shaped the future of the lift. The “Lift Design Contest” taking place for the second time within the expo, which was organized in 2005 for the first time, dealt with the exchange of information, in other words the “Smart Response” between the lift and its user as a subject matter. The contest was held within scope Asansör İstanbul, 10th International Lift Fair by Elevator & Escalator Industrialist Association (AYSAD) and under aids of Industrial Designers Society of Turkey İstanbul Branch (ETMK).
Functional Buttons
In this organization where the designs developed for the easy perception and use of cabin and floor control panels, and the buttons, warning, signal and communication devices on these panels competed with each other, and the winner Umit Karaca and Mehmet Kındı won 11.000 USD. The second best project designer Tamer Nakisci won 7.000 USD and the third best project designer Gokhan Keman won 4.000 USD. While Tugrul Yazar and Nadide Ebru Yazar were awarded by AYSAD Special Prize and 1.000 USD, Ertunc Vatanperver was awarded by a mansion and 500 USD. The contest, with 64 projects including international contestants this year unlike the previous year, aimed to reveal innovative concepts to make the lift buttons more functional and to cast a new light on the future of the lift sector.
